A great jumping-off point to this world of dance. We introduce the couples to a few basic social dances that will, hopefully, give you the dance bug to continue this for as long as you can.

Level 1

In Level 2, we continue to introduce our couples to more dance styles, as well as new moves for the dances we have already covered. The classes move slightly faster than Level 1 but are still accessible to anyone.

Level 2

In Level 3 we spend more time free-dancing to a variety of music and styles. We will usually introduce a couple of new steps or variations to one of our favorite dance styles, with plenty of practice time to work on them.

Level 3

Have you ever been at a gathering that everyone is dancing at and you and your favorite person just stayed in your seats? Not anymore! Bring your partner to our Friday Night Dancing for Fun classes.

Join us for our 10-week sessions in the Spring and Fall semesters each year at Assabet Continuing Education . We will work on the basics of dancing together to a few styles of ballroom dance in Level 1. In Level 2, we work on some new styles and deepen your knowledge of the moves you already learned. Once you think you have mastered all we have to offer in the first two levels, you can join us in Level 3 for even more dance styles, new variations, and plenty of "free dance" to work on your moves with my help and observations.

Each week, we will focus on one to two dances per level. Typically, we will review the previous week's lesson, possibly adding new steps or fun variations, and then we will explore a new dance style. The aim is to continue practicing familiar dances while also introducing new styles whenever possible, while always revisiting everything we have previously learned.

I always strive for my classes to provide a special space where people can come and enjoy the art of dance with someone they want to share it with, meet new people, and practice social dancing.

Give it a try. Everyone is welcome!
